The 5th Annual Canadian Metabolomics Conference (CanMetCon 2024) is scheduled for Thursday, 25 April to Friday, 26 April 2024, at the Jack Poole Hall, The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, co-hosted by The Metabolomics Innovation Centre (TMIC) and the UBC Department of Chemistry.
At this year’s CanMetCon, we have scheduled two entire days dedicated to discussions and panels centered around the theme of “Integrating Metabolomics with Other Omics.” On day 1, our theme is introducing the latest cutting-edge metabolomics research and its integration with other omics by all nine TMIC Principal Investigators participating in the 2023-2029 CFI-MSI program and also three plenary lectures from esteemed Canadian and international experts, including Dr. Fiona Brinkman, a distinguished professor from Simon Fraser University and also deputy at Coronavirus Variants Rapid Response Network, presenting “Integrating Omics Data to Benefit Communities”, Dr. James Heath, the president of the Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) in Seattle to provide his insight in cancer immunotherapy and COVID-19.
Day 2 is dedicated to applications of metabolomics integrated with other omics, focusing on:
- Biological and Cellular Systems
- Omics in Clinical Studies and Biomarker Discovery
- Agricultural and Nutritional Applications
- Public Health and the Epigenome
This day will feature keynote talks from domain experts and oral presentations from the broader omics community, ensuring a dynamic and diverse array of perspectives to share with the attendees. Dr. Lara Mahal (University of Alberta), Dr. Chris Gill (Vancouver Island University), and Dr. Susan Murch (University of British Columbia) will join us as keynote speakers to discuss the four applications.
Alongside our keynote speakers, we have open slots for selected speakers from our registrants, and there are still plenty of speaking opportunities. Apply now to submit a talk abstract for review – you could be our next featured presenter!
